Sometimes, just sometimes, figures cry out to me from the shelf of neglect, demanding to know longer stand dust cover, in unloved grey - nope I am not going mad, but through the slightly over dramatic metaphors, it is something many us wargamers/ figure collectors are all too guilty of. We see, we want, we buy, we promise to paint but new shiny comes along and onto the shelf of neglect they go.
Kings of War is one of my favourite wargames, I love its simplicity, its no nonsense approach and the ease it runs a mega sized game. Sadly I don't play it as much as I would wish, this lack of game time has severely hit production time too - I have been sitting on a mostly unpainted Abyssal Dwarf force for well over 3 years - in fact I bought them when they first was released. To add insult to injury I also have a large Basilea and Undead force too! Both in worse states than the dwarves...
So with the guilt firmly in place I did what any self respecting wargamer does, make a half arsed attempt to get a single unit done than back to the new shiny :)
These figures are Wraiths by Mantic Games - where so easy to assemble, some even where a one piece cast. The paint job was all GW paints - a prime coat of white followed by a very liberal coat of Nihilakh Oxide - done!
While I am very aware I won't be winning any awards for these guys, the end result is still very impressive in regards to the very little time taken. Would look great for the Army of the Dead from Lord of the Rings - or even Undead Pirates!
Thanks for your time, cya soon ;)
